Black Eyed Peas To Headline Super Bowl Half-Time Show
The Black Eyed Peas is all set to perform at the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show on February 6, 2011.
The Black Eyed Peas have crushed Kenny Chesney's hopes of headlining the 2011 Super Bowl half-time show after football bosses named the pop stars as next year's main act.
Earlier this year, Chesney threw his cowboy hat in the ring for consideration as a performer for the big game in Arlington, Texas after fans created a Facebook page online, called Kenny Chesney for Super Bowl 2011.
He told reporters: "I would love to do half-time at the Super Bowl. That'd be fun."
The Grammy Award-winning group, which includes Fergie, 35, will.i.am, 35, Taboo, 35, and apl.de.ap, 35, will follow this year's featured act, The Who, Prince, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, The Rolling Stones and U2 have all previously performed at the annual event, which hit headlines in 2004 when Justin Timberlake partially exposed one of Janet Jackson's breasts on stage during a duet.

Akon Considers 'Burning' His Michael Jackson Tapes
Wednesday, November 24, 2010
Akon has a stash of recordings he made with the late Michael Jackson, but he's threatened to "burn" the tapes because he doesn't want to release any music which was left "unfinished".
The R&B star's duet with the Thriller hit-maker, Hold My Hand, is set to become the first single from Jackson's upcoming posthumous album Michael.
Akon said he has plenty of other recordings they made together, but he doesn't want to hang on to them in case he is tempted to rework them because his idol wouldn't have wanted him to release incomplete tracks.
He tells MTV.com, "Me and Mike worked on a lot of concepts before he passed. 'Hold My Hand' was one of the records that was actually fully complete; the rest of the records are incomplete.
"They're just ideas, concepts, harmonies and stuff like that which the world will probably never see because I wouldn't want to put it out unfinished -- so I might just burn it after this interview, 'cause I might just get tempted to do a remix!
"I know at the end of the day if it wasn't fully complete, I don't think he would see it released that way. I probably wouldn't ever put myself in a position to make that choice."

Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj & Other Stars Dress As Pin-Up Girls For 'Salute The Troops' Promo
Sunday, November 21, 2010
Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Paramore's Hayley Williams, Grace Potter, Keri Hilson and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles spice it up as sexy pin-ups on the poster for 'VH1 Divas: Salute the Troops' concert.
VH1’s Divas franchise, highlighting talented songstresses since 1998, will be coming back for another iconic event for those that have served our country by performing at the MCAS Miramar and at various military bases in the Middle East.
The concert will air December 5 at 9PM EST on VH1. Hosting this spectacular event will be the legendary comedienne Kathy Griffin.
"After having had the honor of performing for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, it gives me great pleasure to host an evening for them where they can really blow off some steam. I will not hold back, but I can't speak for Sugarland. It's going to be a wild night of great music and a heartfelt thank you," Griffin said in a statement.
Additionally, VH1 has launched a "Salute the Troops Photo Mosaic." Users are encouraged to add their photos to the mosaic as a way to show their support for the troops. For every photo shared, VH1 will donate $1 to the USO's Operation Enduring Care. Users can submit photos at Divas.VH1.com using Facebook Connect.
The USO Presents “VH1 Divas Salute The Troops,” featuring some of the country’s most acclaimed singers, will be a night to go down in history as VH1 and the USO come together for the first time for such a distinguished celebration to commemorate the courage of those serving our nation.

This Week's Shining & Falling Stars: Susan Boyle and Katy Perry
Saturday, November 20, 2010
Shining Star – Susan Boyle:
Who thought that more than a year after Susan Boyle became a YouTube sensation with her appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent” that we’d actually still be talking about her? And even though we can’t find one person who admits to buying her latest album, The Gift, it apparently sold about 300,000 copies this week!
Boyle is expected to take the number one spot on the album sales charts again this week, after debuting atop the chart last week. The Scottish singer also showed the youngin’s a thing or two. Boyle, who’s 49 and not exactly known for her fashion sense, sold about 100,000 more albums this week than the uber hot singer from Barbados, Rihanna.
Just goes to show you don’t have to sex up your image to sell some albums. Although Boyle in a Rihanna-esque bikini probably wouldn’t send her CD’s flying off the shelves.
Falling Star - Katy Perry:
Call it a case of cleavage overkill.
Katy Perry has no problem getting press. From her marriage to British bad boy Russell Brand, to her chart-topping hits, the "Teenage Dream" singer makes headlines on a regular basis. But it seems that more often than not, the top story about Perry is about her being, umm, top heavy.
This week's mammary-minded tale comes courtesy of Us Weekly. The celebrity mag has the "exclusive" details of how a VH1 promotional ad featuring Perry had to be Photoshopped to reduce the size of the 26-year-old entertainer’s décolletage. An Us Weekly source puts it bluntly, "Her team thinks her boobs look too big."
Other chest-centered stories this year involving Perry include: endless items about her "California Gurls" video (in which she dons a whipped cream-spewing bra), an online uproar over a low-cut outfit she wore on "Sesame Street", and the super tight Elmo t-shirt she wore on a "Saturday Night Live" appearance.
Maybe it's time for Perry to give her breasts a break and tell her P.R. team to put the kibosh on any article about her 34D’s. Even though she keeps them covered (for the most part), they’re suffering from major overexposure.

Taylor Swift Has A Phobia About Being In The Wrong Relationship.
Wednesday, November 17, 2010
The country music superstar — who has dated Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, Glee hunk Cory Monteith and now Jake Gyllenhaal — admits she has some romantic neuroses.
However, Swift admits she often cuts romances short because she is terrified of ending up with the wrong man.
She tells Allure magazine, "It's a little strange that I'm typically single a lot. I have a phobia about being in the wrong relationship. So as soon as I establish it's not the right one, I don't want to waste their time."
“Relationships are fascinating and riveting and completely unpredictable. For me, love is everything.”
“I used to think there were all these rules for making people like you,” Swift adds.

Sunday, November 14, 2010
Ne-Yo might boast of a string of hits to his credit, but his girlfriend, actress Monyetta Shaw, awarded him with the greatest trophy of his life on Friday night.
Ne-Yo and his partner Monyetta, who was reportedly due to give birth in January, welcomed a baby girl on Friday night at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
The "So Sick" hitmaker was reportedly at a charity event for his Ne-Yo Foundation when he heard his girlfriend had gone into labor, and rushed to be by her side for the birth.

Ne-Yo Claims He Discovered Justin Bieber Before Usher
Thursday, November 11, 2010
“I have no regrets. Things happen for a reason. He wasn’t supposed to be signed to me. Usher has done good. Where he is now is where he’s meant to be.”
“I still feel like he’s figuring out things. Once he gets some tangible records he’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Ten years from now no one will be singing Baby.
It’s good but not very memorable.
Justin is great on the drums and the guitar. He has talent and potential to land up there with Justin Timberlake and co… Talent will take you further than looks, than how flat your stomach is.”

Taylor Swift new album "Speak Now" sales reach more than 1M copies.
Thursday, November 4, 2010
NEW YORK (AP) -- Taylor Swift fans have spoken -- more than a million times.
The country-pop superstar sold more than 1 million copies of her new album "Speak Now," to debut at the top of the Billboard album chart this week.
Billboard.com said Wednesday that it's the biggest debut since 50 Cent's "The Massacre" five years ago.
With 1,046,718 copies sold in the US in the first week of release, Taylor Swift’s Speak Now album has scored SoundScan’s biggest single-week sales total since 2005 and is the biggest debuting country studio album in history.
"What she did now, maybe it's the equivalent of selling 2 million records, or even more, a half a dozen years ago," he said. "It's an incredulous accomplishment."
Speak Now reached the iTunes #1 album position (all genres) within an hour of its release on October 25th, and the album’s lead single, “Mine,” is now Taylor’s sixth #1 hit, jumping from #5 to #1 at Country radio this week. “Mine” has reached #11 at Top 40 radio and is Top 5 at A/C and Top 10 at Hot A/C. The video for "Mine" is in its 10th week at #1 on CMT, and has also reached #1 at GAC, MTV and VH1.
"Speak Now" is 20-year-old Swift's third album.
"Everybody has worked so hard on this full release, and it's truly been magical the last couple of weeks," he said in an interview Tuesday.

Lily Allen loses her Baby.
Monday, November 1, 2010
A statement from the star's representative confirms the news: "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeplydistressing time. No further comment will be made."
The 'Smile' hitmaker said: "The weird thing about being pregnant is that it seems to give people the license to talk about your body shape and say things like 'Wow you have got so big!'. Thanks, I always say, 'I'm embracing it.' "
Allen previously suffered a miscarriage in 2007 just months after she announced she was expecting a baby with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simmons.
She explained: "I didn't even start beginning to deal with it until the baby's due date. Then it hit me like a house collapsing.
